Product Overview

The BQ24703EVM evaluation module is a complete battery charger platform for evaluating a multi chemistry charge management solution using the BQ24703. The BQ24703 is a highly integrated battery charge controller with integrated system switch control for the AC adapter and battery inputs. The bq24703 uses dynamic power management (DPM) to minimize battery charge time by maximizing use of available wall adapter power. This is achieved by dynamically adjusting the battery charge current based on the total system (adapter) current. It has an integrated PWM charger and system power selector. The charge voltage, charge current, and other system parameters are programmable. The EVM can deliver up to 3A of continuous charge current for three or four cell series lithium ion (or lithium polymer) or five to ten cell NiCd/NiMH battery packs.

These devices have limited built in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to MOS gates.
