IA188ES is a microcontroller that allows customers to retain existing board designs, software compilers/assemblers, and emulation tools and thus avoid expensive redesign efforts. This microcontroller is an upgrade for the 80C186/188 microcontroller designs, with integrated peripherals to provide increased functionality and reduce system costs. The Innovasic device is designed to satisfy requirements of embedded products designed for telecommunications, office automation/storage, and industrial controls.

• A phase-lock loop (PLL) allowing same crystal/system clock frequency
• A programmable interrupt controller
• Two direct memory access (DMA) channels, three 16-bit timers
• A wait-state generator and programmable chip select logic
• A dedicated watchdog timer (WDT)
• DMA capability, hardware flow control
• Pulse width demodulator feature, upto 32 programmable I/O (PIO) pins
• A pseudo-static/dynamic RAM controller, fully static CMOS design
• Ambient temperature from -40°C to 85°C, package style is 100-pin PQFP
