                      Product Overview

                      MAX1490BEPG+ is a complete, electrically isolated, RS-485/RS-422 data-communications interface solution in a hybrid microcircuit. Transceivers, optocouplers, and a transformer provide a complete interface in a standard DIP package. A single +5V supply on the logic side powers both sides of the interface. It features reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, allowing error-free data transmission at data rate. Drivers are short-circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state. Applications include isolated RS-485/RS-422 data interfaces, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, industrial-control local area networks, automatic test equipment, and HV AC/building control networks.

                      • Switch frequency is 535kHz typ at VFS=0V, VCC=5V and TA=+25°C
                      • Operating supply current is 130mA typ at RL=54ohm, VCC=5V and TA=+25°C
                      • Shutdown input leakage current is 10pA typ at VCC=5V and TA=+25°C
                      • Driver input to output propagation delay is 2µs typ at RDIFF=54ohm, CL1=CL2=100pF
                      • Driver output skew is 900ns typ at RDIFF=54ohm, CL1=CL2=100pF
                      • Driver rise or fall time is 1.0µs typ at RDIFF=54ohm, CL1=CL2=100pF
                      • Time to shutdown is 100µs typ at VCC=5V and TA=+25°C
                      • 24 wide plastic DIP package
