Product Overview

The MAX9217ECM+T is a 27bit, 3MHz to 35MHz DC balanced LVDS serializer in 48 pin LQFP package. This digital video parallel to serial converter serializes 27bit of parallel data in to serial data stream. A 18bit of video data and 9bit of control data are encoded and multiplexed on to serial interface by reducing serial data rate. The data enable input determines when video or control data is serialized. The MAX9217 pairs with MAX9218 deserializer to form a complete digital video serial link. DC balance allows AC coupling which provides isolation between transmitting and receiving ends of interface. The LVDS output is internally terminated with 100 ohm. ESD tolerance is specified for ISO 10605 with ±10KV contact discharge and ±30KV air discharge. The MAX9217 operates from 3.3V core supply and has separate input supply for interfacing to 1.8V to 3.3V logic levels. It is used in navigation system display, in-vehicle entertainment system and LCD displays.

  • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
  • Data encoding for DC balance and reduced EMI, five control data inputs are single bit error tolerant
  • LVCMOS and LVTTL receiver signal type and LVDS transmitter signal type
  • Clock period of 333ns and clock duty cycle of 50% and clock transition time of 2.5ns
  • Greater than 10m STP cable drive and output common mode filter reduces EMI
  • Power-down supply current of 50µA and worst case supply current of 50mA at 35MHz
  • Wide ±2% reference clock tolerance and 700Mbps data rate
  • Output rise time of 215ps, output fall time of 206ps and power-down delay of 1µs
  • Peak to peak output offset voltage of 22mV (700Mbps data rate, CMF open)
