Product Overview
BTA316-800B,127 is a 3Q Hi-Com Triac. It is a planar passivated high commutation three quadrants triac intended for use in circuits where high static and dynamic dV/dt and high dI/dt can occur. This "series B" triac will commutate the full RMS current at the maximum rated junction temperature without the aid of a snubber. Application includes electronic thermostats (heating and cooling), high-power motor controls e.g. washing machines and vacuum cleaners, rectifier-fed DC inductive loads e.g. DC motors and solenoids.

- High commutation capability with maximum false trigger immunity
- High immunity to false turn-on by dV/dt, high voltage capability
- Planar passivated for voltage ruggedness and reliability
- Repetitive peak off state voltage is 800V max
- RMS on-state current is 16A max (full sine wave; Tmb ≤ 101°C)
- Non-repetitive peak on-state current is 140A max (full sine wave, Tj(init) = 25°C, tp = 20ms)
- Gate trigger current range from 2 to 50mA (VD = 12V; IT = 0.1A; T2+ G+;Tj = 25°C)
- On-state voltage is 1.3V typ (IT = 18A; Tj= 25°C), holding current is 60mA max (VD = 12V; Tj= 25°C)
- SOT78 package, junction temperature is 125°C
