Product Overview
The DS1050Z-005+T&R is a 5bit programmable pulse width modulator (PWM) with 2-wire addressable controlled interface in 8 pin NSOIC package. The 2-wire addressable interface allows operation of multiple devices on single 2-wire bus and provides compatibility with other Dallas Semiconductor 2-wire devices such as real time clocks (RTCs), digital thermometers and digital potentiometers. Interface protocol is simplified to an 8bit control byte and 8bit data byte. Information can be read or written to the DS1050 including a commanded shutdown operation. The DS1050 is ideal for low cost LCD contrast and/or brightness control, power supply voltage adjustment and battery charging or current adjustment. Typical applications include automated test equipment (ATE), battery chargers, building energy management (HVAC), LCD displays and panels, motor and motion control, power supplies and temperature sensors.
- Supply voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V, active supply current of 50µA
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- Standard PWM output frequency of 5KHz, standby current of 0.1µA
- 2-wire interface gives processor control of PWM functions
- Adjustable duty cycle from 0% to 100%, PWM output provides signal that swings from 0V to VCC
- SCL clock frequency of 400KHz (fast mode) and 100KHz (standard mode)
- Output frequency tolerance of ±20% and output impedance of 200 ohm
- Absolute linearity of ±0.5LSB and relative linearity of ±0.25LSB
- Frequency temperature coefficient of ±200ppm/°C, frequency voltage coefficient of 1.5% per V
- Requires typical operating current of 50µA and programmable shutdown supply current of 1µA
