Product Overview
LTC®3880 is a dual, PolyPhase DC/DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controller with an I²C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The controller uses a constant frequency, current mode architecture that is supported by LTpowerPlay™ software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI). Switching frequency, output voltage, and device address can be programmed using external configuration resistors. Parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Voltage, current, internal/external temperature and fault status can be read back through the bus interface. Typical applications are high current distributed power systems, telecom, datacom and storage systems, intelligent energy efficient power regulation.

- Telemetry read back includes VIN, IIN, VOUT, IOUT, temperature and faults
- ±0.5% output voltage accuracy over temperature, internal EEPROM with ECC and fault logging
- Integrated powerful N-channel MOSFET gate drivers power conversion
- Analog current mode control loop, accurate PolyPhase® current sharing for up to 6 phases
- Input voltage range from 4.5 to 24V (TA=25°C, VIN=12V, VRUN0,1=3.3V, fSYNC=500KHz)
- Input voltage supply current is 25mA typ (VRUN0,1=3.3V, no caps on TG and BG)
- 40-lead plastic QFN package
- Junction temperature range from -40°C to 105°C
