Product Overview
The MAX13485EESA+T is a half-duplex RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This is a ±15KV ESD-protected RS485 transceiver features one driver and one receiver. Device has fail-safe circuitry and logic-high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). It includes a hot-swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the bus during power-up or live-insertion. Transceiver features reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, it allows error-free transmission up to 500Kbps. It is used in utility meters and automated HVAC systems.

- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- True fail-safe receiver while maintaining EIA/TIA-485 compatibility
- 1/4 unit load, allows Up to 128 transceivers on the bus
- Maximum supply current is 4.5mA at DE = 1, RE (complementary) = 0, no load
- Maximum shutdown supply current is 10μA at DE = 0, RE (complementary) = 1
- Maximum time to shut down is 700ns
