The UCC28180EVM-573 is an evaluation module for UCC28180 power factor correction (PFC) controller. The UCC28180 incorporates a wide range of protection features to ensure safe system operation. It is a flexible and easy to use, 8 pin, active PFC controller that operates under continuous conduction mode to achieve high power factor, low current distortion and excellent voltage regulation of boost preregulators in AC to DC front ends. This PFC controller is suitable for universal AC input systems operating in 100W to few KW range with the switching frequency programmable between 18KHz to 250KHz, to conveniently support both power MOSFET and IGBT switches. The UCC28180EVM-573 is a 360W off line power factor correction boost converter providing a nominal output voltage of 390V regulated output at 0.923A of load current. The PFC converter accommodates an input voltage range of 85Vac to 265Vac and uses average current mode control at a fixed programmable switching frequency of 120KHz.

Notes

High voltage levels are present on the evaluation module whenever it is energized. Proper precautions must be taken when working with the evaluation module.
