The 8424-8 is a 3M™ Cold Shrink Insulator. It provides you with extended strength and force as well as moisture-tight sealing. The device works with 10 to 1/0AWG conductor sizes and is able to withstand temperatures of -40 to 194°F. This device offers great protection for high-voltage, air-insulated connectors or lugs and allows you to easily insulate secondary splices and direct buried or submersible, dig-in repairs. Use it for all your solid dielectric insulated wire and cable splice jobs. It has a black-coloured, EPDM rubber construction.
