Product Overview
AD5172BRMZ100-RL7 is a dual-channel, 256-position, one-time programmable (OTP) digital potentiometer that employs fuse link technology to achieve memory retention of resistance settings. The digital potentiometer, VR, and RDAC terms are used interchangeably. OTP is a cost-effective alternative to EEMEM for users who do not need to program the digital potentiometer setting in memory more than once. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers or variable resistors but with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability, and superior low-temperature coefficient performance. It is used in applications such as systems calibration, electronics level setting, mechanical trimmers replacement in new designs, permanent factory PCB setting, transducer adjustment of pressure, temperature, position, chemical, and optical sensors, RF amplifier biasing, gain control, and offset adjustment.
- Shutdown supply current is 0.01µA typical at (VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
- 2-channel, 256-position potentiometer, unlimited adjustments before OTP activation
- OTP overwrite allows dynamic adjustments with user defined preset, RAB is 100 ohm
- VW settling time is 1µs typical at (VA = 5V, VB = 0V, ±1LSB error band)
- Full read/write of wiper register, single supply voltage range 2.7V to 5.5V
- Resistance temperature coefficient is 35ppm/°C typical at (VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
- 4.8MHz typical -3dB bandwidth at (code = 0x80, VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
- Total harmonic distortion is 0.1% typical at (VA = 1V rms, VB = 0V, f = 1KHz)
- Supply current is 3.5µA typical at (VIH = 5V or VIL = 0V, VDD = 5V ±10%, or 3V ±10%)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 10-lead MSOP package
