Product Overview
ST485EBDR is a low-power transceiver for RS485 and RS-422 communication. Each driver output and receiver input is protected against ±15KV electrostatic discharge (HBM) (ESD) shocks, without latch-up. This part contains one driver and one receiver in a half duplex configuration. This transceiver draws 300µA (typ.) of supply current when unloaded or fully loaded with disabled drivers.
- Designed for RS-485 interface application
- Common mode input voltage range from -7V to 12V
- Driver maintains high impedance in 3-state or with the power OFF
- Operates from a single 5V supply, allows upto 256 transceivers on the bus
- Current limiting and thermal shutdown for driver overload protection
- Receiver input hysteresis is 70mV typical at (VCM = 0V)
- Rise or fall time is 15ns typical at (RDIFF = 54 ohm, CL1 = CL2 = 100pF)
- Propagation delay input to output is 25ns typical at (RDIFF = 54 ohm, CL1 = CL2 = 100pF)
- Receiver input resistance is 96Kohm minimum at (VCM = -7V to 12V)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, SO-8 package
