                      Product Overview

                      1580N16-U is a versatile, high-performance current-feedback amplifier suitable for differential microphone preamp and bus summing applications. This device's differential output simplifies connection to differential input devices such as A/D converters. The part operates from as little as ±5V up through ±18V supplies. It is designed to mate perfectly with THAT's series of digital preamplifier controller ICs. Designed from the ground up in a high-voltage BiCMOS process, this device improves on existing integrated microphone preamps by offering more versatile gain configuration, lower noise at low gains, higher slew rate, and lower distortion. It is used in applications such as microphone Preamplifiers, digitally-controlled microphone preamplifiers, differential low-noise preamplifiers, differential summing amplifiers, differential variable-gain amplifiers, moving-coil transducer amplifiers, line input stages, audio, sonar, instrumentation.

                      • Supply voltage range from 5V to 18V, differential output
                      • Supply current is 7.9mA typical, differential gain is 70dB maximum
                      • Noise figure is 1.5dB typical at (6dB gain; RS = 150 ohm)
                      • Total harmonic distortion is 0.0004% typ at (0dB gain)
                      • Slew rate is 53V/µs typical at (VOUT = 50.3VP-P, RL=2Kohm, CL=100pF)
                      • Input bias current is 6.8µA typical, equivalent input noise current is 1.5pA/√Hz typical
                      • Power supply rejection ratio is 111dB typ at (V+ = -(V-); ±5V to ±18V, 0dB gain)
                      • Common mode output voltage is -640mV typical
                      • Capacitive load is 100pF maximum at (over entire temperature range)
                      • Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 16 pin QFN package
