Product Overview
74VHC164FT(BJ) is a CMOS digital silicon monolithic IC. It is an advanced high speed CMOS 8bit serial-in parallel-out shift register fabricated with silicon gate C²MOS technology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent bipolar schottky TTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. It consists of serial-in, parallel-out 8-bit shift register with a CLOCK input and an overriding active-low CLEAR input. Two serial data inputs (A, B) are provided so that one may be used as a data enable. An input protection circuit ensures that 0 to 5.5V can be applied to the input pins without regard to the supply voltage. This device can be used to interface 5V to 3V systems and two supply systems such as battery back-up. This circuit prevents device destruction due to mismatched supply and input voltages.

- Maximum clock frequency is 175MHz typ at (5.0 ±0.5V, CL=15pF, Ta = 25°C, input: tr=tf=3ns)
- Propagation delay time (CK-Q) is 5.8ns typ at (5.0 ±0.5V, CL=15pF, Ta=25°C, input: tr=tf=3ns)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
